Paleo Cooking Kitchen Gadgets

Due to the nature of Paleo cooking where most foods are made from scratch, there are a lot of gadgets available that can make your life easier when preparing food. Here is a list of our favourites:

    • A food processor These are great for slicing, dicing and whipping up a meal in no time. Food processors have multiple functions depending on the placement and type of attachment or blade. Their functions normally include:

      • Slicing/chopping vegetables

      • Grinding items such as nuts, seeds, meat or dried fruit

      • Shredding vegetables

      • Pureeing

      • Blending

      • Mixing and kneading

    • A good set of pots and pans - Especially a really large stock pot to make large batches of bone broth and soups.

    • Dehydrator – This gadget uses low temperatures and a fan to dry food. It essentially removes the water from food, but keeps the enzymes of raw food intact. A dehydrator is essential for making meat jerky, vegetable chips or dried fruit.

    • Salad spinner – These allow you to wash your salads and remove excess water from the salad greens by spinning all of the moisture out of them, allowing for a crisp salad and no sogginess.

    • Blenders – These have good speed and multiple blades to mix, puree and emulsify food and other substances. They are great for creating smoothies, sauces and dips.

    • Mandolin slicer and julienne peeler – These gadgets will easily help make vegetable chips and zucchini noodles very quick.

    • Glass Pyrex containers – You will use these a lot for food storage instead of plastic. You will also be able to make extra meals and store then in the freezer, then they can go straight to the oven or microwave.

    • Juicer – This gadget will extract juice, and only juice from your fruit and vegetables. All of the pulp and fibre is removed which allows the nutrients to assimilate very quickly into your body and bloodstream. This gives your immune system an immediate boost and feeds your cells very quickly.
