 Paleo Battered Fish Recipe Paleochoice


  • 650g gurnard or hoki fish fillets
  • 1/4 cup organic coconut flour
  • 3/4 cup tapioca starch
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2/3 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/4 cup sparkling water
  • 1/2 cup olive oil


  1. Combine the coconut flour, tapioca starch, eggs, seasoning & water.
  2. Cut the fish fillets in half diagonally into the size pieces you prefer & gently pat with a paper towel.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over a medium heat.
  4. Coat the fish fillets with the mixed batter & place into the hot oil. Cook for 4 minutes and gently flip to cook on the other side for 3-5 minutes until the fish is white and flaky. Try not to overcook.
  5. Use a spatula to remove from the pan and place on a paper towel covered plate. Serve while still hot.
