  • Make a broth bowl by adding a selection of veggies and noodles. Serve hot

What’s so good about it?

Bone Broth has been made for hundreds of years by our grandparents and their grandparents due to its traditional history as an elixir for the unwell. Often referred to as ‘chicken soup for the soul’, our broth contains naturally occurring nutrients such as Vitamin D, B Vitamins and Zinc to support immune health with the added benefits of traditional Chinese adaptogenic mushrooms. Leading busy lives can make it hard to find time to make broth from scratch.

This Chicken Bone Broth powder is ready in seconds, as tasty and nutritious as homemade and easy to take on the go!

How is it made?

Chicken bones are added to filtered water and apple cider vinegar (to assist in the extraction of the minerals) then slow cooked for over 12 hours. The broth is then strained for impurities and as it cools the fat is skimmed off the top. The broth goes through a gentle refractent drying process taking care to preserve the rich nutritional profile.

Why we added Nutritional Yeast to our Chicken Bone Broth and what are the benefits?

Chinese mushrooms have been used throughout history in Traditional Chinese Medicine for centuries. Reishi Mushroom, in particular, is touted as the “king of Traditional Chinese Medicine” due to its proposed benefits on the immune system and its role as a strong adaptogen. In western culture where lemon, honey and garlic are brewed for the treatment of the common cold, the equivalent in eastern culture is broths filled to the brink with a variety of immune boosting mushrooms and or in the case of He Shou Wu, a black bean based soup to help alleviate symptoms, promote the rebalance of ‘Yin’ energy and strengthen “Qi” or lifeforce to assist in recovery. These mushrooms have such strong empirical evidence of use throughout history that the western world is slowly catching up to include these medicinal mushrooms in foods more widely so that everyone can reap the benefits of these traditional elixirs.

Majority of mushrooms available today are of traditional Asian origin and all have a particular smokiness about them with shiitake having the most distinct and popular flavour. The roundness of the smokey flavour delicately compliments the robustness of Beef Bone Broth and Vegetable Broth and adds to the soft aroma of Chicken Bone Broth.

IS MUSHROOM BROTH SUITABLE FOR PREGNANT, BREASTFEEDING WOMEN AND CHILDREN? Yes, Mushroom Broths are suitable for all members of the family to consume. All Traditional Chinese Mushrooms and botanicals are included only in relative quantities for a food product (roughly 100 x less than the suggested therapeutic dose) and all have a long history of consumption as food in Asian cultures.

Nutra Organics is currently a food company that creates products solely for the purpose of nourishing our bodies with organic, high quality health foods. Therefore we do not promote any of our products to have a specific therapeutic effect, including Mushroom Broths. Mushroom Broths are not intended for any therapeutic purpose. For further information regarding this or any concerns you may have regarding Mushroom Broths and a specific health condition, we recommend consulting your primary physician.

As with the other Bone Broths, unfortunately the Bone Broths (chicken and beef) are not suitable for vegans. However we have made sure to include a plant-based version of the mushroom broth - Vegetable and Mushroom flavour - which is 100 % vegan.

If you suffer an allergy to mushrooms or other fungi, we recommend steering clear of our mushroom broths. Otherwise they are all FODMAP friendly, gluten-free and dairy free. They are manufactured in a facility that also processes products containing fish, shellfish, eggs, soy, tree nuts, lupin and sesame.
